
Dr. Orjiako made this call via his newly
launched book titled ‘Nigeria: The ForsakennRoad to Nationhood and Development’
According to him;
“They could be reformatted in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the peoples that inhabit them using the peaceful instrumentalities of consultations, negotiations and referendum.’’
He further posited that, “the consultative
states need not to be de-established, rather he added ‘’they would cease to be federating units and become zonal development centres, while the LGAs take up the task of grassroots transformation within their zones.’’
Below are the lists of the suggested zones;
1. The Northwest zone – Kano, Katsina,
Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa and Kaduna states
2. The Northeast zone – Adamawa, Borno,
Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba states
3. The Northcentral zone – Benue, Plateau,
Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi and Kwara states
4. The Southwest zone – Oyo, Osun, Ono,
Ogun, Ekiti and Lagos states
5. The Southeast zone – Anambra, Abia,
Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu states
6. The South-south zone – Akwa Ibom,
Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers
states
