Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton have been growing value with fashion designers who dressed them in clothes.
But this time around, Sophie Theallet, a New York-based French designer have gone extra mile refusing the request to dress future first lady Melania Trump because of the political views of her husband, Donald Trump.
She did not end there, she also advised other fashion designers to do so.
Her statement;
"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next first lady," adding that
"The rhetoric of racism, sexism and xenophobia unleashed by her husband's presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by." she wrote this and was published to the public on Thursday.
She commends Michelle Obama In her statement:
"She has contributed to having our name recognized and respected worldwide.
"Her values, actions and grace have always resonated deeply within me."
