French Fashion Designer Refuses To Dress Melania Trump


Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton have been growing value with fashion designers who dressed them in clothes.

But this time around, Sophie Theallet, a New York-based French designer have gone extra mile refusing the request to dress future first lady Melania Trump because of the political views of her husband, Donald Trump.

She did not end there, she also advised other fashion designers to do so.

Her statement;
"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next first lady," adding that
"The rhetoric of racism, sexism and xenophobia unleashed by her husband's presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by." she wrote this and was published to the public on Thursday.

She commends Michelle Obama In her statement:
"She has contributed to having our name recognized and respected worldwide.
"Her values, actions and grace have always resonated deeply within me."

Benin residents instructed not to cook with fire on Sunday

Oba of Benin The Benin Traditional Council has instructed residents not to cook with fire on Sunday, June 5, as part of activities for continuation of the 15 days funeral rites for late Monarch, Oba Erediauwa. The instruction is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr Frank Irabor, made available on Friday in Benin. Irabor stated that Sunday would be the day of Edenagberen- Mwiwu in the royal funeral rites programme and as such, there would be no cooking with fire, in accordance with Benin customs and tradition. He then called on Benin indigenes and non-indigenes in the kingdom to observe the Igberimwin rite.
