HIV Positive Malawian Man Tried for having Sex with Newly Bereaved Widows and young girls

An HIV-positive Malawian man has been found guilty for having unprotected sex with newly bereaved widows. Eric Aniva, a sex worker known in Malawi as a "hyena", admitted in a BBC interview to having sex with more than 100 women and underage girls and not disclosing his HIV status. President Peter Mutharika of Malawi arrested him in July for defiling young girls, but none came up to testify to what he said. Aniva was tried for "harmful cultural practice" under section five of Malawi's Gender Equality Act for having sex with new Widows after Two women testified against him and He will be sentenced on 22 November 2016. According to The BBC's southern Africa correspondent, the case has attracted international media attention and sharply divided opinion as to how widespread the practice remains.

Angola eye Malawi's scalp

Angola will be looking to gun down Malawi in the COSAFA Castle Cup Group B game at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday. Kick-off is at 5:30pm.
